Approximately 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At one point on Sunday, more than 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
